Providing Horse Connected Learning Programs for Youth and Adolescents

Connecting with Horses

Horses are social animals by nature, just like humans. But because they are a prey animal, they have the ability to always stay present and take each moment as it comes. Horses mirror our emotions, meaning they react to how we show up. And, they do so in a non-judgmental way. However we are when we go in to meet them, that is how the horses will respond. By observing their actions, and bridging that with our own emotions, we can see a different perspective.

Youth and adolescents in particular benefit from learning life skills (such as problem solving, critical thinking, confidence, etc.), developing socially and emotionally, and understanding their own mental health and wellness. Activities with horses can help children learn in all of these areas and more. The current generation has a unique challenge. Everything we need is at our fingertips by way of technology and our youth struggle with the ability to think critically and work through challenges. By getting outside and working in a social setting with another, we're able to help our kiddos develop these very important skills that they will need throughout their lives.
